Carle Park Pavilion

Urbana Park District, Urbana, IL

Restoration of a nearly 100-year-old, two-story Italian Renaissance Revival pavilion: roofing, tuckpointing, limestone cleaning, and foundation and step repairs.

Security upgrades include wrought iron gates, window guards, vandal-resistant LED lighting, and video surveillance.

Champaign County Courthouse

Champaign County, Urbana, IL

IGW led a team of architects and engineers to expand and renovate the turn-of-the-century courthouse. A new 90,000-square-foot addition houses courtrooms, holding areas, and judicial support, and the existing 39,000-square-foot courthouse was renovated for court offices.

A later project restored the clock and bell tower and stabilized the masonry.

Champaign Police Facility

City of Champaign, IL

IGW evaluated an overcrowded facility that was only 12 years old and designed a 52,000-square-foot addition wrapped around the original building, preserving parking and the communications tower.

The 27,000-square-foot original building was then renovated, and a later project consolidated evidence storage and processing.

Cobb Memorial Auditorium

Urbana High School, Urbana, IL

Built in 1913, the auditorium was renovated during the school year for a modern performing arts program.

The work included a multi-level infill addition for storage and support, restored balcony seating, an enlarged stage and proscenium, an orchestra pit, rigging, lighting, A/V, and acoustics.

Jail and Sheriff's Headquarters

Moultrie County, Sullivan, IL

Comprehensive design and construction services for a 21,000-square-foot LEED Silver jail and law enforcement facility.

The design incorporates surplus pre-cast modular housing units from the Thomson Correctional Center project in a semi-circular layout centered on a security control room.

Urbana City Building

City of Urbana, IL

Expansion and renovation of government offices, police, and fire stations. A 14,000-square-foot infill addition connected three 1960s buildings under one roof.

The addition created a central atrium and public lobby and gave the complex a new exterior skin.

Urbana Free Library

City of Urbana, IL

A 27,000-square-foot addition and remodeling of the 1918 Samuel T. Busey building and its mid-1970s addition, expanding the adult, children's, and archive departments.

Site work includes parking, a drive-up book drop, and an accessible entrance with a pedestrian plaza.

Illinois World War II Veterans Memorial

Oak Ridge Cemetery, Springfield, IL

Developed with University of Illinois Professor Jeffery S. Poss and sculptor Dann Nardi, the memorial features black granite walls with war chronologies, paver walkways, landscaped berms, and a 12-foot raised relief globe.

It is grouped with the existing Vietnam and Korean War memorials.
